The delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the Moscow consultations on Afghanistan


A meeting of the Moscow format of consultations on Afghanistan was held in the Russian capital on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by representatives of ten countries of the region and a high-ranking delegation of the Taliban led by the Deputy Prime Minister of Afghanistan Abdul Salam Hanafi. The Turkmen delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Khadzhiyev.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergei Lavrov addressed the participants in the consultations.
During the current multilateral dialogue, the participants touched upon topical issues related to the consolidation of the efforts of the international community to prevent the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, as well as ensuring inclusive conditions for development in this country.

The head of the delegation of Turkmenistan noted in his speech that regular meetings in such formats contribute to the development of new approaches and consolidated decisions aimed at ensuring stability on Afghan land.
He spoke in favor of stepping up bilateral and multilateral contacts with the Afghan side for discussion, exchange of views and solution of pressing issues of interaction.
Also during the meeting, special attention was paid to the possibilities of developing a mutually acceptable approach to cooperation with international organizations and financial institutions in the context of their participation in the implementation of trans-Afghan energy, transport and industrial corridors.
Vepa Khadzhiev noted that Turkmenistan, as a neighboring state, is deeply interested in the political stability and security of Afghanistan, the well-being and unity of the Afghan people, resolving conflicts by peaceful, political and diplomatic means, the website of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
