In Turkmenistan, from January 1, 2021, wages and pensions to be increased


President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a decree on the next increase in the rate of wages, pensions, state benefits, scholarships for students and listeners in Turkmenistan by 10%.
According to the document, published in the summary of the official chronicle for Friday on the air of the “Altyn Asyr” TV channel, from January 1, 2022, the salaries of employees of budgetary institutions, self-supporting enterprises and public associations as well as pensions and state benefits, scholarships for students and listeners will be increased by 10%,
In addition, the minimum amounts of pensions and wages in the country have been revised. So, from January 1, 2022, a new monthly minimum pension has been established: for participants in the Great Patriotic War - 1,710 manats, for wives of GPW participants and home front workers - 500 manats.
The base value for calculating the minimum pension is now set at 410 manats, and for state benefits - at 390 manats.
The minimum wage in Turkmenistan is set at 1,050 manats, on the basis of which monthly salaries will be regulated.
The presidential decree also ordered to approve from January 1, 2022, the size of the monthly official salaries of the heads of state authorities, local executive authorities and local governments, military, law enforcement and judicial authorities, editorial offices of newspapers and magazines, public associations, in accordance with the appendices of this document.
The increase in salaries will be ensured by optimizing the structure of institutions, increasing productivity and using unused reserves.
