Turkmenistan will send its products to the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation as a sign of friendship and good-neighborliness. The decree about this was signed today by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via videoconference. The document orders the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry, the Ministry of Textile Industry and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs to donate pharmaceutical products and medical means, textiles and food products to the Astrakhan Region. The delivery will be carried out by a ship of the Merchant Marine Fleet of Turkmenistan on Turkmenbashi-Astrakhan voyage. The development of direct contacts with regions and subjects of Russia is one of the key areas of the interstate dialogue. The Astrakhan region is a close neighbor of Turkmenistan on the Caspian Sea, with which fruitful cooperation has been established in various fields, the President said. Earlier, in May 2020, Turkmenistan made the same gesture of friendship and good-neighborliness: He bestowed the products of its industry to the Astrakhan Region.
