On September 1, Day of Knowledge and Student Youth, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a general lesson, which opened a new academic year.
The meeting of the head of state with young people took place in the capital's Congress Center. The President devoted a lesson to the historical path that Turkmenistan has passed over 30 years of independence, to new tasks in the development of the country and the role of the youth in solving them.
Noting that 30 years is not a long time for history, Berdimuhamedov briefly described the main milestones in building a democratic, legal and secular state, modernizing the national economy and promoting the country's position in the world community on the basis of its foreign policy status of positive neutrality, striving for constructive international cooperation.
"The foreign policy of neutral Turkmenistan is the path of peace, the path calling for friendship and brotherhood among all the peoples of the planet," Berdimuhamedov said, citing as an example the opening in Ashgabat of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, as well as the proclamation of the United Nations on the initiative of Turkmenistan 2021 year the International Year of Peace and Trust.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a fascinating historical excursion in his story, confirming the idea of the continuity of the spiritual experience and cultural heritage of ancestors, which became the basis of modern creative processes.
At the same time, the Turkmen leader noted that today digital technologies are the most important factor in the country's competitiveness and economic growth, and noted in this regard the importance of training young specialists in this area.
In the era of the fourth industrial revolution, the youth must be at the forefront of the innovation movement, keeping up with global technological developments, the President said.
Further, in a detailed lecture, the President touched upon all the key areas of development of Turkmenistan over the years of independence, giving the most striking and large-scale examples of achievements in the economy and social aspects. And the main component of these successes is patriotism, love for the Motherland - this is a bright feeling, the value of which cannot be measured, the head of state emphasized.
