Turkmenistan sent humanitarian aid to Afghanistan


Turkmenistan sent humanitarian aid to Afghanistan today by order of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. This was the first humanitarian delivery of the Turkmen side to Afghanistan after the certain events in this state, the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan specifies.
In particular, medicines, protective clothing for medical personnel and other medical products, disinfectants, medicinal solutions, protective masks, surgical gloves, drugs for the treatment of coronavirus infection were sent to the Afghan people.
The delivery ceremony of the humanitarian aid took place in the village of Turgundi in the Herat province with the participation of the leaders of the region, as well as members of the local Turkmen diaspora. The Afghan side expressed special gratitude to the leadership and people of Turkmenistan who provide regular support to the neighboring country.
Making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of neighboring Afghanistan through the implementation of promising projects in the field of energy, transport and communications, Turkmenistan continues to maintain close international cooperation in the peaceful settlement of the situation in Afghanistan.
