Residents of Kuwait have stopped to greet with each other by nose


Kuwaitis, who greeted each other, touching a tip of their noses to express better their feelings, now are content with a distant greeting.
The people of Kuwait because of the novel COVID-19 epidemic refuse a tradition-al kind of greetings. The epidemic which has caused serious changes all over the world, has also considerably affected daily habits of the Kuwaiti people.
Sports commentator Abdurrid Abbas, who shares his thoughts on this theme with journalist of the Anadolu Agency, supported the intention to completely re-fuse of such customs, as hand shaking and nose greeting because of COVID-19.
- Like our ancestors, we need to begin practising a greeting from distance. This method is ideally suited for prevention of diseases during the current period and in the future when epidemics will not be, - Abbas says.
Journalist Tariq ad-Dyureis noticed that people in Kuwait welcomed and em-braced each other so that to show each other their love, but after warnings of the Ministry of Health, they began to practice a remote greeting.
Dyureis marked that after outbreak of the epidemic people for some time can feel fear of handshaking and embraces and social researches are now conducted in this direction.
Within the limits of actions against spread of COVID-19 in Kuwait a partial curfew was introduced. Because of the virus, a disease case which for the first time was discovered in the country on February, 22, 7 persons have died, and the number of the diseased has increased to 1915.
