Construction Program of Turkmenistan for 2020 will be reduced because of the global crisis
At an expanded on videoconferencing government meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov assigned Vice Prime Minister Shamuhammed Durdylyev to review the construction program for this year owing to the global economic crisis. Plans for the construction of facilities that were scheduled to be commissioned this year will be adjusted, and the most necessary ones will be selected, first of all, which are socially important. Mr. Berdimuhammedov said that despite the weakening of economic activity because of the coronavirus pandemic, it is necessary to continue building an energy ring inside the country, as well as power transmission lines and fiber-optic communication lines along the route Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan. The Vice Prime Minister was commissioned to work out additional measures to attract investments in the construction and industrial sectors of the Turkmen economy.
