Turkey closed entry for citizens of 10 European countries


Turkey introduced a ban on the entry of foreign citizens from 14 states in the framework of the fight against the spread of a new type of coronavirus, the Turkish news agency Anadolu reports.
Earlier, from February 3, Turkey suspended flights with China, from February 23 - with Iran and from February 29 - with Iraq, South Korea and Italy.
On March 14, Turkey imposed a ban on crossing checkpoints on the country's borders to all passengers arriving from Germany, Spain, Norway, France, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium and the Netherlands.
The corresponding directive was signed on March 13 by the head of the republic’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, Suleiman Soilu, following a joint meeting with the Minister of Health Fakhrettin Koja, the Minister of Justice Abdulhamit Gul and the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Mehmet Jahit Turhan.
The ban will be valid until April 17, 2020. In addition to the residents of the countries mentioned, the ban applies to third-country nationals who have visited these countries over the past 14 days.
According to the document, the departure from Turkey to these countries is also temporarily suspended. At the same time, there are no restrictions on the departure from Turkey of citizens of Germany, Spain, France, Austria, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium and the Netherlands.
All foreign ships entering the ports of Turkey must provide lists of the last 10 ports in which the ships were located. If the ships have visited the ports of China, Iran, Italy, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Denmark, Norway, Belgium, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore, or transported the citizens of these countries over the past 14 days, the necessary measures will be taken.
