Meditative drawing: an exhibition of works by a follower of surrealism was opened in Ashgabat

The State Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan hosted an exhibition of paintings by Aya Serhenova. The artist works in unusual style combining the paradoxical forms and images, impressions inspired by the author’s environment.
Ms. Serhenova as though sees the world through the eyes of Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. The illusion of her subconscious associations appears on the canvas not only with help of paints – Aya uses a ballpoint pen and simple pencils to embody ideas. Even coffee finds its special place in the works performed in a unique technique.
“A personal exhibition at this level is a big responsibility for me, so of course I am very excited, – says Aya Serhenova. – This exhibition contains paintings have been already exhibited and completely new works: graphics, paintings. I experiment with different genres and directions, trying to find something of my own.”
Among many guests of the Vernissage are famous artists of Turkmenistan, teachers and students of Aya, family and relatives, friends who always admire the artist’s talent, residents and guests of Ashgabat. After the opening ceremony of the exhibition by speeches and congratulations, visitors went to view the exhibition in the halls, taking pictures of the landscapes they liked on their mobile phone and trying to guess the philosophical messages codified in the artist’s works.
“When I became acquainted with the works of Aya Serhenova, I asked her what she dreams about? – says the art connoisseur Gulya Kurbanova. – She answered that she wanted to organize an exhibition and invite her father to it. Her dream came true – Amanmurad Serhenov is very proud of his daughter and is glad that he has the opportunity to witness her success. To be able to transfer so subtly all feelings and impressions to the canvas is not given to everyone. Of course, this exhibition is a great holiday for the young master, I want to wish her further success.”
Aya Serhenova since childhood, was wrapped up in a creative environment that influenced her professional choice. An admirer of the talent of Salvador Dali, the artist interprets the surreal direction in art in her own way, sinking the viewer into the depths of a meditative drawing.
“I like to watch how the mother works, – says the daughter of the artist Eva Serhenova. – She drew me in a picture “Mother’s Reflection”. I study at school as yet and I have many different hobbies: sports, foreign languages, sometimes I also draw, but I haven’t decided exactly what I want to become in the future. Next week, our entire class will visit this exhibition. Of course, I am proud of my mother, and I am pleased that my classmates will get to know her oeuvre.”
The exhibition of works by Aya Serhenova will be opened during ten days, and connoisseurs of beauty will not only be able to get acquainted with the art of the young artist, but also purchase some paintings to their personal collection.
