Nury Halmamedov's Music Festival to be held in Ashgabat
Ashgabat is preparing for the June 18-21 festival "Music of Nury Halmamedov - the incessant melody of the epochs", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the outstanding Turkmen composer. Within the framework of the festival, it is planned to hold creative competitions among young musicians, exhibitions, conferences, a documentary film about his work, as well as a concert of the State Symphony Orchestra and masters of the arts of the country. The popularity of Turkmenistan's creative work of Nury Halmamedov is not subject to time. Most popular among the people is his music, to the cult, as now commonly called, films "Contest" and "The Decisive Step". It seems that some of his tunes were not composed by our contemporary, but came from the depths of centuries. What is the secret of his success? Maybe it was that he could express the soul of the Turkmen people with the language of music. The same way it was possible to express the spirit of the Germans by Richard Wagner, the Hungarians by Franz Liszt and the Poles by Frederic Chopin.
