Historical truce: North and South of Korea show rapprochement

On April 27th, the historic meeting of the President of the Republic of Korea, Mr. Mun Zhe Ina, and the head of the Korean People's Democratic Republic Kim Jong-Un took place.
Following the talks, the heads of state signed a joint declaration in which they said that from now on the North and South will seek the restoration of a unified Korea.
Leaders met in the so-called "truce village" Panmunjom, located on the border of neighboring states. Shaking hands with each other, the heads of the two Koreas stepped over the military demarcation line.
Thus, Kim Jong-Un became the first head of the DPRK, who visited the territory of the Republic of Korea in 65 years.
During the meeting, issues of nuclear disarmament and the restoration of economic cooperation between the DPRK and the ROK were discussed. Also, the leaders of the two states together planted a pine on the border between the countries. The plate, installed near the tree, reads: "Here lie the roots of peace and prosperity".
