Champions of Turkmenistan on boxing won gold, two silver and two bronze medals in Warsaw

The winners of the Turkmenistan Boxing Championship held in mid-February tried their strength on the international ring in preparation for the 2018 Asian Games. They participated in the representative XXXV International Feliks Stamm Tournament in Warsaw, Poland, on March 12-16, during which they won five awards - one gold, two silver and two bronze medals. As a result, our team took the third place in the overall standings, losing only to the teams of Russia and Kazakhstan. Under the guidance of Alexander Lebzyak, head coach, Turkmen boxer Khursand Imankuliyev (60 kg) easily overcame the first two rivals - from Mongolia and the Philippines. Our athlete faced with difficulties in a duel for the first place with a fighter from Russia Arthur Subkhankulov. Both were worthy of praise all three rounds in the ring, demonstrating impeccable training, but after the final bell the judges gave preference to the Turkmen athlete who earned the first gold for the Turkmen boxing team, re-completed a month ago. Jabar Meileyev in the up to 52 kg weight category and Arslanbek Achilov in the up to 91 kg weight category brought silver medals to the Turkmen team. Super heavyweight boxer Baky Toychyev (+91 kg) and boxer in the lightest weight category Jabar Meileyev (49 kg) were awarded with bronze.
