Turkmenistan and Georgia will be linked by energy and transport
President Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili discussed the possibility of expanding the Turkmen-Georgian partnership in Ashgabat. During the talks, the focus was on issues of interaction in the field of energy and transport. It is obvious that Georgia will continue to support the Turkmen side's ideas on ensuring the safe transit of energy resources and the formation of an international transport infrastructure as the most important conditions for global sustainable development. The parties noted that the geographical location and common interests of the two states stipulate the benefits of active cooperation in creating a transport corridor that will connect the Caspian and Black Sea regions. According to the parties, this will lead to new broad opportunities for interregional integration and access to world markets, and will also serve to intensify trade and economic ties throughout the Eurasian space. Prior to that, President Berdymukhamedov touched on the same issues with the heads of state of Armenia and Azerbaijan during his recent visits to the Caucasus.
