Turkmen businessmen receive $3 billion in loans to implement infrastructure projects

Today, on March 16th, President Berdimuhamedov signed resolutions to allocate loans to the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan for a total amount of 3 billion US dollars, the information program "Vatan" of the Turkmen State Television and Radio reports. 2 billion 400 million dollars will be allocated to finance the construction of the highway Ashgabat-Turkmenabat (formerly Chardzhou) and 600 million for the construction of the Mining Concentrator for the production of potash fertilizers on the basis of the Tubigatan field in Lebap province. At a meeting with the UIET members, President Berdimuhamedov stressed that entrepreneurs should take the leading place in the national economy and called on businessmen to create more high-tech enterprises that will use local raw materials for production. The UIET unites more than 20,000 entrepreneurs, which, taking into account the country's population of just over 5 million, brings the association of Turkmen businessmen to the ranks of the country's largest public organizations. By providing jobs to more than 150,000 residents of various regions of Turkmenistan, businessmen annually build and commission more than 600 large facilities for various purposes. These include high-quality and turnkey retail and entertainment centers, sports complexes, international airports, hotels, libraries and many others. Thanks to the vast experience of working at the national level, Turkmen entrepreneurs have the capacity to implement their projects in foreign countries. One of the first was the construction of a kindergarten in Moldova and a comprehensive school in the Astrakhan region (Russia). The interaction of Turkmen entrepreneurs with foreign partners is growing. At the moment, the UIET has representative offices in China, the UAE, Austria, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan and other cities, which allows any member of the Union to take its business to the international level. As the Turkmen leader emphasized at the meeting with businessmen, their activities should contribute to Turkmenistan's integration into the global economy system, through the introduction of advanced working methods, in particular, in the agro-industrial complex, tourism, trade, textile industry and food industry, transport, services and construction.
