Batyr Hojamuhammedov 's clear victory: to achieve the goal

Batyr Hojamuhammedov, a graduate of the National Institute of Sport and Tourism of Turkmenistan, became a bronze medalist of Agadir Grand Prix 2018 Judo Tournament, which was held in Morocco on March 9-11.
He managed to defeat rivals from Ukraine, Cyprus, and Switzerland and lost to Russian wrestler Kirill Denisov, who became the winner of this tournament. In deciding battle for bronze with the Swiss Patrik Moser, he won an early and convincing victory, using “through the chest” hold and eventually received the highest score in judo – “Ippon”.
- The victory was not easy for me, my opponent was more experienced and older me – Batyr says. – Feelings that swept over me at the time of “triumph” cannot be expressed in words. At that moment, I thought about my relatives, whose faith helped me to win.
- My short-term goal was to become a prizewinner of the Grand Prix was. I achieved it. Now, I want to participate in Olympic Games most of all! I think we should go from goal to goal, set ourselves a certain task and, despite everything, realize what we have conceived.
Enjoy by realizing of your capabilities is the slogan of Teddy Riner, a French judoka, who won two Olympic gold medals and ten World Championships gold medals, the first and only judoka (male or female) to do so. Batyr calls him his idol.
Having first stepped on the mat in 4 years age, Batyr immediately became addicted to judo and no longer imagined himself without sport. Now he is an eight-time champion of Turkmenistan, silver medalist of the Junior Asian Championships 2015 in Bangkok, twice the fifth at Grand Prix series and once at Grand Slam. At his first international tournament – European Cup 2010 – Batyr took the fifth place also.
In a few days, he will go to the Grand Prix tournament – now in Tbilisi, where the competitions start on March 30, and from there – to competitions in Antalya.
- What helps to train? Good motivating music, for me, for example, such songs as “Too far before the start”, “Pure victory”.
There is a great merit of the coaches Ahmed Altyev and Yanar Hojamuhammedov, who is the uncle of Batyr, behind every success of our sportsman. Serdar Hojamuhammedov, the brother of the athlete, is the world champion in combat jiu-jitsu, the winner of the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat.
