The Great Silk Road becomes the guiding vector of world tourism
World tourist flows are gradually shifting to the Great Silk Road. The participants of the 25th Moscow International Tourism Exhibition make this conclusion.
Recently, increasing tourist flows and attention of famous tourist companies, specialized magazines and informational resources indicate growing interest in Central Asian countries tours as new perspective direction of international tourism. Generally, tourists are interested in the Great Silk Road, as well as individual tours.
The states of the Central Asian region adequately respond to the increased interest of tourists in the region. Tourist infrastructure facilities are being built, new tourist routes are being developed, legislation is being improved, and the quality of services is improving in the countries of Central Asia.
This is clearly seen in the example of Turkmenistan. The suggestion of the Head of the State on declaration of the slogan “Turkmenistan – the Heart of the Silk Road” in 2018 was unanimously adopted during the session of the Council of the Elders in October last year. Recently, the State Programme for archaeological excavations of historical and cultural monuments located along the Silk Road in Turkmenistan in 2018 – 2021 was adopted. The government puts great efforts to the fundamental study of cultural heritage, historical monuments and popularization of the phenomenon of the Silk Road in the world.
One of the main events of 2018 will be the international rally “Amul – Khazar 2018”, which scheduled for this September. Sports cars will race from the Amudarya to the Caspian Sea. In the olden days, there were trade caravans with goods along this route.
Avaza National tourist zone is another pearl of Turkmenistan for tourism, the Turkmen water area of which is recognized as the most environmentally friendly. The word “Avaza” started to be famous internationally just 10 years ago and now, it is in all tourist guides, illustrated booklets of the world tourist agencies and news raising keen interest of the travel and sea resorts lovers.
Avaza turned into modern tourist paradise with luxurious hotels, roads, parks, amphitheatres and fountains. Yachts, boats and catamarans, water ski, surfing, diving and water parachutes, this is only the part of what the resort offers to the lovers of active holidays and extreme. Statistics annually indicates an increase in the tourist flow to Avaza, mainly from abroad.
