Interior Ministry of Afghanistan to bolster secure environment for the construction of TAPI

The safety of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project is among the priorities on the working agenda of the Ministry of the interior of Afghanistan. Thousands of security forces have been deployed to ensure protection for the future pipeline, reports the Agency TOLO News, citing the agency’s spokesman Nusrat Rahimi. Recall that recently the UN Security Council adopted a Resolution extending the mandate of UNAMA. The document expressed support for the transport and energy projects, initiated by Turkmenistan, including the TAPI project. In addition, the Security Council called on all stakeholders to ensure a secure environment for the implementation of these initiatives. During the first ten years, Afghanistan will receive 500 million cubic meters of Turkmen gas annually, followed by an increase in supplies by half a billion cubic meters every decade.
