The Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries (TKNPZ) modernizes the delayed coking and tar deasphalting unit. The unit will process heavy residues from petroleum products produced at the enterprise, which will expand the range of high value-added goods of the complex. Modernization of this facility is a key stage on diversification of Turkmen petroleum products production, which allow the country to lock in new markets and increase export. The production of needle coke, which is planned to be produced at the new facility also, will promote Turkmenistan's position in the global electrical goods market. The needle coke is used for production of graphitized electrodes, which are necessary for the manufacture of furnaces and electric cookers, as well as a number of other appliances in high demand. The increase of volume of output at the TKNPZ will also expand the geography of Turkmen fuel supplies. For example, Euro 5 gasoline, which will be produced by a new unit, meets the high environmental requirements of importing countries in North America and Europe. The delayed coking unit also has the finest possibility of setting up the production of liquefied gas, high-octane gasoline, high-viscosity oils and other light oils, which are in a great demand at the world market. At the same time, the oil processing depth at the TKNPZ will increase up to 95 percent. The development of high value-added goods production diversifies the export of Turkmen goods as well as promotes the country’s presence in the world market of petroleum products.Eziz OWEZOV
