Turkmen weightlifters are gathering in Kazakhstan before major tournaments

From 4th to 25th March, the Turkmen Weightlifting Team conducts training camps in Kazakhstan - 20 athletes with the support of two coaches are preparing for the World Weightlifting Championships to be held in Ashgabat in November and the Summer Asian Games in Jakarta starting on August 18th of this year. "We believe in the success of our athletes at competitions of this level," comments the representatives of the National Federation of Turkmenistan on weightlifting. At the last Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in September 2017, Turkmen weightlifters won 6 medals, of which 1 was gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze. Young athletes also take part in the current training camps. 10 juniors and two of their trainers are preparing for the third Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, which will be held in October this year. The qualifying stage for them will be the Asian Weightlifting Championship, which will be held in the Uzbek city of Urgench in April.Aijahan ATABALLYEVA
