The transport sector remains one of the fastest growing Turkmen industries


In the first two months of 2018, Turkmenistan's GDP grew by 6.2%. The stability of this growth is provided by targeted investments in a number of key industries that affect macroeconomic indicators. For example, the industrial sector grew by4.8%, the transport and communications sector - by 10.4%, trade - by 8.4%, and agribusiness - by 3.4%. These figures were announced at a government meeting on Friday, March 2nd. The share of the service sector in GDP is also increasing - in January-February, the dynamics here is at the level of 10.1%. So, since the beginning of the year, the volume of retail trade turnover in comparison with the same period of 2017 increased by 18.1%. Production in the country increased by 4%, its exports - by 18%. Since the beginning of the year, about 417 thousand square meters of housing have been built in the regions of Turkmenistan.
