Ashgabat-Yerevan: air bridge will help to gain new height
The opening of the direct flight Ashgabat-Yerevan was one of the subjects discussed at the meeting of the presidents of Turkmenistan and Armenia. The basis for the development of air transportation between the two capitals is the Memorandum of Understanding concluded by the General Department of the Civil Aviation of the Republic Armenia and the State National Service “Turkmenhovayollary” in the year 2014, as well as the intergovernmental Agreement on air communication, which opens the possibilities for inclusion of third countries in the route. Taking into account other agreements reached by the heads of the two states during the talks in Yerevan, the opening of the connecting flight between the two capitals becomes an important step. In particular, there was a reference to the requirement for direct contacts through business structures, organization of economic exhibitions and business forums and the opening of Trade Houses that will promote the products of Turkmen and Armenian producers in the markets of our countries. In addition to economic feasibility, there is also mutual humanitarian interest. Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Serzh Sargsyan paid attention to this issuevas well. As mentioned at the meeting, the historical relationships of the Turkmen and Armenian people can be traced back to the early Middle Ages. And the pivotal parts of the shared history present a field for joint research of historians today. However, not only scientists, but also travel enthusiast are interested in the historical and cultural national treasure. And among the documents signed today in Yerevan there is an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism. So the establishment of a direct air service is already a matter of practical implementation of the intentions announced today at the summit. The aspiration of the sides to more active contacts in the field of sports, fixed by a separate interdepartmental document, could be assigned to the same sphere. It should be noted that the package of Turkmen-Armenian agreements includes programs of cooperation in the field of culture and art, diplomacy. Cooperation Agreements were also concluded by financial departments and institutions of the two countries. Agreements on scientific and technical cooperation in the field of seismology, on interuniversity interaction were signed. No matter how important these directions, which can certainly play a big role in the intensification of bilateral relations, are, but tourism and sport are the most widespread and the most popular trends for now. These particular areas are now coming to the fore in the processes of humanizing of the globalizing world community, despite the active cooperative power of trade and commerce. They become the vehicles of peacemaking ideas in the interethnic polylogue, bring nations and people together, efface the boundaries, but preserve the diversity of cultures, traditions, talents and impressions.
