Mary velayat gathered top-level guests from the countries of the region and international organizations for important events


Within the framework of working trip to Mary velayat, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a number of meetings with high-ranking guests, the information program “Watan” of the Turkmen State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company informs. Among the guests are Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahid Abbasi, Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, UAE Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Alisher Sultanov, Vice President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Mansur Muhtar and Director General of the Regional Department of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Werner Liepach. The actuality of meetings is caused by upcoming important events like launch ceremonies of the Afghan section of construction of Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan – India gas line and power and fibre optic lines Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan as well as opening ceremony of new railway Serhetabat – Turghundi. During the talks between the President of Turkmenistan and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the leaders paid special attention to the formation of a new architecture of energy security and interstate transport and transit corridors that should ensure the stable development of the Asian region. It was said that today Turkmenistan and Pakistan are actively developing the transport infrastructure, which is aimed at boosting trade turnover between Asia and Europe and strengthening inter-regional trade turnover. During the meeting of the head of state with the Minister of Economy of the UAE, the fruitful work of the Joint Committee on Co-operation, which allowed stimulating the interaction of countries in many sectors of the economy, was noted. It was highlighted that in view of the implementation of large-scale projects that should positively affect the economy and the political situation in the region; many countries and large companies are considering opportunities to deepen cooperation with Turkmenistan. During Berdimuhamedov's conversation with the IDB Vice President, the guest noted that cooperation with Turkmenistan is one of the top priorities for the Bank, especially, in the context of the TAPI project, which will become the guarantee of the socio-economic development of the Asian region. Over the President's talks with the Indian Foreign Minister, who highly appreciated Turkmenistan's initiatives and stressed his country's interest in importing Turkmen fuel, which will help the state during the period of rapid economic development, the positive dynamic of the Turkmen-Indian cooperation in the fuel and energy sphere was underlined. During Berdimuhamedov's meeting with the Director General of the Regional Department of ADB, the long-term nature of Turkmenistan’s cooperation with this financial organization and contribution to the implementation of important international projects, including the TAPI gas pipeline, which will give a tremendous impulse to accelerate the development of the Asian region, were emphasized. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan thanked the head of Turkmenistan for the opportunity to attend tomorrow's celebrations on important events for the life of the region, after which the sides negotiated the development of Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation in various fields. The huge significance of the historical events, which will be held at the border of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan on February 23, was highlighted during the meeting between President Berdimuhamedov and Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz. It was noted that by implementing large infrastructure projects, Turkmenistan opens a new milestone in the development of regional cooperation, creates conditions for strengthening global security as well as contributes to the sustainable economic development of the whole region.
