Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan prepare for a meeting of leaders in Tashkent
In the spring of this year, President Berdymuhamedov will visit Uzbekistan with official visit, say Uzbek mass media quoting ambassador of Turkmenistan to Tashkent Shiri Shiriyev.
Currently, the parties are engaged in active preparations for the forthcoming Turkmen-Uzbek summit.
The agenda of the talks has not yet been disclosed. However, according to the Turkmen envoy, a wide range of issues will be settled during the visit.
The same time, Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Ashgabat Akmaljon Kuchkarov also mentioned the planned visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Uzbek capital in his recent interview to the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan".
A little time have passed since Berdymuhamedov and Mirziyoyev met last time, if one proceeds from the general practice of interstate contacts at the summit level.
Thus, the heads of states met in Turkmenistan in March and May last year. During the March state visit of the Uzbek President, the treaty for strategic partnership was signed, marking the essential upgrading the centuries-old good-neighborly relations.
The intensity of the dialogue between the top leadership of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan is an important factor contributing to the progress of the impressive common agenda, the intrinsic part of which falls on transport and communication, energy, humanitarian, trade and economic spheres, while current and future successes are conditioned by the close focus and contacts between the two leaders.
In turn, this triggers positive transformations in all other downstream levels of interaction. So, Lebap province and Bukhara region are establishing a business partnership, Khorezm region and Dashoguz province are working on joint points of growth. The collaboration in science, sports, cultural exchange, tourism moves ahead.
The future meeting of the heads of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will be another incentive to reveal new opportunities and prospects of multi-dimensional bilateral cooperation, the potential of which is inexhaustible.
