Wheat flour produced in Turkmenistan in January exceeds the plan by almost 20%
During the first month of 2018, 59.3 thousand tons of flour were produced at enterprises under the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of Turkmenistan, which is 19.8% more than the planned target for January of this year.
At the same time, according to the State Statistics Committee, as of February 1, 2018, there were 20,678 tons of unrealized stocks of this consumer product, which is 10.8% higher than the quantity of stocks as of January 1.
In 2017, Turkmenistan produced 640,700 tons of flour, 4.2% more than production in 2016 and the same amount of planned target.
In the first month of 2018, the country produced 69.9 thousand tons of bakery products, which is 1.4% more than the same period last year.
Last year 82.4 thousand tons of bread and bakery products were baked in Turkmenistan, which is 12.7% higher than in 2016.
The growing production of flour and bakery products is ensured by a good harvest of grain crops in Turkmenistan, which in 2017 exported 261.1 thousand tons of wheat abroad, continuing to be a stable supplier of this type of grain since 2011.
This year, tenant farmers growing wheat, were allocated 760 thousand hectares of land, which are expected to be used for growing and harvesting of 1 million 600 thousand tons of grain.
Since 2013, Turkmen farmers and many private entrepreneurs engaged in agricultural business can receive various soft loans at minimal interest for a long period in banking institutions, which has led to an intensification of the development of this sector of the country's industry.
