Bishkek to Host Regional Meeting on Trade Facilitation in Central Asia

A regional meeting on trade facilitation for Central Asian countries will take place in the capital of Kyrgyzstan on November 9–10, 2026. This two-day forum will bring together delegations from relevant government agencies, representatives of national committees, international financial institutions, and experts in the fields of logistics and foreign trade.
The primary objective of this interdepartmental platform is to develop unified approaches to reducing administrative and technical barriers to the cross-border movement of goods within the region. Participants will assess the progress made by Central Asian nations in implementing the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement and review the World Bank’s analytical findings on expanding the region’s export potential.
A key focus of the agenda is the technological modernization of transit corridors. Experts will discuss the implementation of paperless technologies—specifically, the mutual recognition of electronic documents, the practical rollout of digital tools such as eCMR, eTIR, and eLogistics, the upgrading of border crossing points, and the integration of artificial intelligence into customs administration.
The meeting is expected to culminate in an agreed-upon roadmap for joint action, aimed at strengthening institutional cooperation among national committees, harmonizing regulatory requirements, and fostering dialogue between the public and private sectors across the region.
