Railway disasters highlight the importance of transport safety and an effective emergency response. Once rescue operations have progressed, identifying victims and providing medical assistance become essential priorities.

Spanish authorities announced on November 2 that all 69 people killed in last week's high-speed train collision near Urda, in Toledo Province, have been identified.

According to Spain's Integrated Data Center, the provisional death toll remains at 69, including 54 Spanish nationals and 15 foreign citizens. All victims were adults, comprising 40 men and 29 women.

The foreign victims included four Americans, two Australians, two Japanese and one national each from Argentina, Canada, the Czech Republic, France, Mexico, Portugal and Tunisia.

Forensic specialists from Toledo and Ciudad Real completed the identification process. Fifty-six victims were identified through fingerprint analysis, while the remaining 13 were identified through DNA testing.

The families of all victims have been notified, and relevant consular offices have been informed in cases involving foreign nationals.

Meanwhile, authorities in Castilla-La Mancha reported that 29 injured people remain hospitalized. Nine are receiving treatment in intensive care units, while 20 are in general wards.

Of the 110 patients initially admitted to hospitals, 81 have been discharged. Recovery and investigative operations continue at the accident site. All carriages belonging to the Iryo and Renfe trains have been removed from the tracks.

Approximately 50 Civil Guard officers remain deployed in the area to continue searching the site.

As reported by SSTV+, Spanish authorities have completed the identification of all 69 victims of the high-speed train collision near Urda, while 29 injured people remain hospitalized.
