The 78th International Trade Fair for Ideas, Inventions and New Products (iENA) is taking place in the German city of Nuremberg. For the fourth consecutive year, China has the largest international delegation, bringing 145 projects to this year's event.

The three-day fair, which concludes on Monday, has gathered individuals and organizations from more than 20 countries and regions. Nearly 600 inventions are being showcased.

Organized by the China Association of Inventions, the Chinese delegation is presenting projects in biomedicine, green energy, artificial intelligence and intelligent manufacturing. Exhibition organizers say China's participation stands out not only for its scale but also for the quality of its projects.

Henning Koenicke, managing director of exhibition organizer AFAG, said the Chinese delegation was once again the largest among international participants and one of the most professional.

Among the exhibits is a micro- and nanorobot designed to navigate the complex vascular system of the human body, offering new possibilities for treating related diseases.

Another project, developed by Tsinghua University, uses drones and artificial intelligence for intelligent flood modeling and forecasting. The system can rapidly simulate the development of floods, including in areas with complex terrain and limited baseline data.

Also on display is a system for developing deep-Earth energy resources. It combines data from multiple geological surveys with artificial intelligence to provide real-time monitoring and early risk warnings, supporting the development of underground oil and gas resources.

Oliver Mayer, chairman of the international expert jury, praised China's entries, highlighting the country's industrial technologies and their potential to address global challenges.

The delegation also includes young exhibitors. Among them is fifth-grade student Zhang Ting, who has developed a smart shopping cart that follows its user. Using a beacon and a base station, the device determines the user's direction and distance. It also responds to hand gestures: a closed fist starts the cart, while an open palm brings it to a stop.

Founded in 1948, the Nuremberg International Inventors' Fair was established to provide a platform for innovations from around the world and help bring them closer to commercial application. According to the organizers, around 98 percent of this year's exhibits are being presented to the public for the first time. The fair places particular emphasis on environmental protection and energy technologies, alongside new developments in mobility, electrical engineering, information technology, education and research.
