Amazon Has Unveiled Its "Bee" Line of Gadgets: A Smart Wristband and a Smartphone Module, Both Featuring Built-In AI

Amazon has launched two new devices designed to work with its personal AI assistant, "Bee": the Frontier wristband and the Eclipse, a magnetic module for smartphones. These new products are designed to automatically record conversations, generate accurate meeting summaries, and create to-do lists.

The Frontier wristband features a dual-microphone system with noise cancellation, carries an IP67 water-resistance rating, and offers up to seven days of battery life on a single charge. It can be worn on the wrist or attached to clothing. The compact Eclipse module—measuring just 4.6 mm in thickness—attaches to the back of a smartphone via MagSafe. It can record both in-person conversations and phone calls, with a battery life of up to 21 days.
Both gadgets prioritize privacy, featuring built-in recording indicator lights and a dedicated microphone-mute button. Audio recordings are transmitted to a secure cloud environment for transcription, after which they are immediately deleted; the resulting summaries are then stored in an encrypted format.

Integration with the "Alexa+" service allows users to request transcriptions via voice commands and automatically add items to a to-do list—for example, if a conversation mentions that certain household supplies have run out.
The Frontier wristband is priced at $75, while the Eclipse module costs $100. Basic functionality is available for free, while an advanced subscription—offering an unlimited archive and an AI-powered chat feature—is available for $12 per month.
