Turkmen Philologists Presented Research on the Legacy of Magtymguly at an International Symposium in Bishkek

Scholars from the Magtymguly Turkmen State University participated in an international academic symposium titled "The Study of Azerbaijani Language and Literature in the Turkic World." The forum, held on October 8–9 in Bishkek, brought together researchers from Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and France.
Representatives from the university took part in the event via video conference. Amannepes Shikhnepesov, Head of the Department of Turkmen Literature and a Candidate of Philological Sciences, focused his presentation on the practice of translating poetic works between the two languages—specifically, poems by the literary classics Magtymguly Pyragy and Samad Vurgun. Meanwhile, Tagandurdy Bekjayev, a senior lecturer in the Department of the Turkmen Language and a Candidate of Philological Sciences, discussed how Azerbaijani literature and culture are reflected in the creative legacy of the great Turkmen poet and thinker.
The academic forum was organized by Khazar University and the Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University. It was held to mark the 35th anniversary of Khazar University and the 100th anniversary of the First Baku Turkological Congress.
Symposium participants discussed strengthening literary ties among Turkic peoples, preserving a shared cultural heritage, and teaching related languages abroad. The meetings concluded with the adoption of resolutions aimed at expanding inter-university cooperation, and the speakers were presented with certificates.
