Today, October 22, the “Turkmenistan–China (Shanxi Province)” trade and economic forum took place at the Archabil Hotel in the capital.
Organized by the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, this major event brought together heads of government agencies, diplomats, experts, and representatives from over 70 leading Turkmen and Chinese companies. The forum covered sectors including energy, construction, logistics, and high technology.

The proceedings began with welcoming remarks from the heads of the respective delegations. Sun Wei, Director of the General Office of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) for Shanxi Province, provided a detailed overview of his region’s industrial, energy, and technological potential. He emphasized Shanxi’s commitment to strengthening direct business ties with Turkmen partners, implementing advanced digital solutions, and actively increasing the volume of mutual trade.

Azat Nazarov, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, noted that bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and China have reached a qualitatively new level. He emphasized that, thanks to the wise policy of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the country is placing special focus on expanding foreign economic ties and modernizing the national economy.

The Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry put forward specific proposals for deepening interregional cooperation. In particular, he highlighted the need to establish direct contacts in the areas of industrial production, the manufacturing of modern construction materials, digitalization, and the development of urban infrastructure.
He also underscored the importance of promoting Turkmen exports, broadening the range of goods traded between the two nations, regularly exchanging lists of companies, organizing joint business missions, and fostering educational ties.

The second part of the forum featured a presentation session, during which representatives from the business communities and leadership of prominent Turkmen and Chinese enterprises showcased their promising projects. Participants held detailed discussions on investment initiatives in sectors such as construction, renewable energy, equipment supply, and transport and logistics infrastructure.

A practical outcome of the event was the formal signing of bilateral documents. Cooperation agreements were concluded between the Shanxi Construction Investment Group and the Turkmen enterprises "Bereketli Jay" and "Altyn Tug." Another agreement was signed between the company "Jintian Hechuan Yun Nengyuan" and the business entity "Arzuvly Osush."

The forum concluded with direct B2B negotiations, during which entrepreneurs discussed the specifics of implementing the signed contracts and the projects that had been outlined.
