Russia to send first diesel shipment to US following supply agreement
The first tanker carrying Russian diesel bound for the United States following a new supply agreement is set to depart on Thursday, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said.
According to Novak, Moscow and Washington are in the final stage of completing contracts for further Russian diesel supplies.
He expressed optimism that Russia could expand diesel exports to other countries by the end of the year and fully restore its previous export volumes.
U.S. President Donald Trump had earlier announced an agreement with Russia on diesel supplies. The first shipment is expected to carry around 40,000 metric tons of fuel.
Novak also commented on the Nord Stream gas pipelines, which were damaged by explosions in 2022, saying they remain technically repairable.
According to CCTV+, Russia expects to continue diesel supplies to the United States and other markets while gradually restoring its export volumes.
