The Mejlis of Turkmenistan Is Drafting New Laws on E-Commerce and Real Estate Registration

The Parliament of Turkmenistan is systematically working to adapt the national legal framework to modern economic realities. This was announced by the Chairperson of the Mejlis, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, during a government meeting on October 17. Currently, relevant committees are finalizing two fundamental draft laws: "On E-Commerce" and "On the State Registration of Real Estate Rights."
The adoption of the law "On E-Commerce" will establish transparent legal standards for the development of e-commerce, the protection of online consumer rights, and the digitalization of the retail sector. Meanwhile, the legislation concerning the registration of real estate rights will accelerate the transition of property registries into an electronic format. In parallel, members of parliament are introducing comprehensive amendments to the Customs, Criminal, and Civil Procedure Codes of Turkmenistan.
