New Medical Centers Opened in Ashgabat
On October 10, a grand opening ceremony took place in the capital, attended by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, for the International Scientific-Clinical Center of Oncology, the Dental Center, and the International Center of Pediatrics. The large-scale launch of these state-of-the-art medical facilities was timed to the Day of Healthcare and Medical Industry Workers.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Head of State emphasized that caring for human health and fostering a healthy society remain an absolute priority of state policy. It was noted that over the 30 years of successful implementation of the "Saglyk" State Program—initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov—the domestic healthcare system has reached an innovative level, while disease prevention and high standards of medical care have become the foundation of the national development model.
The new medical facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art, high-tech equipment from leading global manufacturers and are unparalleled in the region.
The 500-bed International Scientific and Clinical Oncology Center is a multidisciplinary complex comprising over 20 specialized departments. It marks the country's first implementation of specialized units for bone marrow transplantation and palliative care, as well as facilities for the production of radiopharmaceuticals and chemotherapy drugs. The center features cutting-edge robotic radiotherapy systems and hybrid SPECT/CT and PET/CT scanners equipped with artificial intelligence capabilities.
The 80-bed dental center provides specialized maxillofacial and surgical care utilizing "smart" technologies, robotic computed tomography, and digital CAD/CAM dental laboratories.
The 160-bed international pediatric center focuses on the prevention, high-precision diagnosis, and treatment of childhood diseases based on advanced global practices. Its structure includes specialized departments for surgery, cardiorheumatology, neurology, and intensive care.
During the tour of the new centers, prestigious international certificates and awards were presented by respected foreign organizations and German medical clinics, recognizing the high quality, innovative equipment, and architectural excellence of the new facilities (including the German Design Award 2026).
To conclude the ceremonies, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov presented the keys to new vehicles to the medical centers.
