On October 9, a meeting took place at the "Avaza" National Tourist Zone between the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, who had arrived in the country to participate in high-level events.

After warmly welcoming the guest, the Head of State thanked the leader of the friendly nation for accepting the invitation to visit Turkmenistan and participate in the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State. It was emphasized that the Turkmen side highly values Alexander Lukashenko’s personal attention to strengthening regional partnerships and fostering a constructive exchange of views at the "Avaza" venue.

In turn, the President of Belarus expressed gratitude for the traditionally hospitable reception and highlighted the immense contribution of the National Leader of the Turkmen people to the development of multifaceted cooperation within the Commonwealth, thanking him for his consistently constructive approach to interstate relations.

During the conversation, the parties noted with satisfaction that Turkmen-Belarusian relations rest on a solid foundation of equality, trust, and mutual respect. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to expanding dialogue both bilaterally and within major international forums, primarily the UN and the CIS.

The leaders of the two countries paid special attention to trade and economic cooperation, noting the significant potential for intensifying partnerships in transport, the chemical and oil-and-gas industries, and the textile sector.

The humanitarian dimension is a key component of interstate ties. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmen youth are successfully studying at leading Belarusian universities and advocated for further deepening contacts in science, culture, and the arts, including the holding of reciprocal Days of Culture, exhibitions, and scientific conferences.
