Sergey Lavrov Assesses Scope of International Forums in Avaza During Talks with Rashid Meredov


The Avaza National Tourist Zone has become a central venue for a series of key international events. On October 7, talks took place in the city of Turkmenbashi between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, on the sidelines of the meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers.
Welcoming his Turkmen counterpart, the Russian Foreign Minister expressed appreciation for the traditional hospitality and highlighted Turkmenistan's rapid pace of development. Sergey Lavrov noted the particularly busy diplomatic schedule of the current week, which encompasses meetings within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States at the level of foreign ministers and presidents, as well as the "long-awaited environmental summit of the Caspian Five nations."
In his opening remarks, the Russian diplomat highlighted the level of coordination between the two countries' foreign ministries and emphasized the importance of implementing agreements reached at the highest level.
The meeting in Avaza aims to outline further steps to strengthen the strategic partnership and foster mutual support in international arenas. Sergey Lavrov also congratulated the country's leadership and people on the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, reaffirming Moscow's satisfaction with the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation.
