The festivities marking the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, held at the Ashgabat Equestrian Complex, served not only as a vibrant cultural event but also as a venue for high-level diplomatic and business meetings. On the sidelines of the celebrations, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with top executives from major Asian corporations—Japan’s Toyo Engineering and South Korea’s Daewoo Engineering & Construction.

During his meeting with Eiji Hosoi, President, CEO, and Representative Director of the Japanese company Toyo Engineering, the head of state emphasized that this visit would provide fresh momentum to bilateral cooperation.

The guest expressed sincere appreciation for the invitation to the celebratory events and highly commended the conditions established in Turkmenistan for the successful operation of foreign businesses. During the conversation, the parties noted that the interstate dialogue, grounded in principles of mutual respect, encompasses a wide range of areas—from politics and the economy to the social and humanitarian spheres. Particular emphasis was placed on the long-standing, productive experience of jointly implementing major projects in Turkmenistan’s gas and chemical industries, and the head of Toyo Engineering reaffirmed the company's readiness to continue actively participating in the country's industrial programs.

The development of strategic dialogue was also the central topic of discussion during the Head of State's meeting with Lee Kang-seok, the new President of the Korean company Daewoo E&C. After congratulating the businessman on his appointment to this high-ranking position, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that his visit would inject fresh momentum into bilateral ties.

Having congratulated the country's leadership and people on the independence anniversary, Lee Kang-seok shared his admiration for the grand celebrations and the architectural landscape of Ashgabat. The meeting highlighted the long-term nature of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea, noting that key milestones in strengthening this partnership included the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Seoul and the inaugural "Central Asia – Republic of Korea" Summit. Korean companies are making a significant contribution to the modernization of the country's gas-chemical sector, and the head of Daewoo E&C pledged to make every effort to expand long-term industrial projects.
