Azerbaijan Formula 1 Grand Prix Sets Attendance Record
The tenth round of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku set an all-time attendance record, with the number of international visitors exceeding 16,000. By comparison, 14,000 foreign fans attended the race weekend a year earlier. According to Baku City Circuit, this year’s figure is the highest recorded since the premier class of motorsport began holding races in the capital.
In addition to the intense on-track action, the race weekend was memorable for its rich cultural and entertainment programme. The Azerbaijan Automobile Federation organized an exhibition of classic cars in the territory of the Seaside National Park. In the fan zone, spectators had the opportunity to see unique retro models and take a journey through different eras of the automotive industry.
The organizers also summed up the ten best off-track moments of the Baku round. The list included Daniel Ricciardo’s iconic phrase, “Well done, Baku,” the famous Turn 8 next to the walls of the medieval fortress complex of Icherisheher, as well as the paddock’s furry star — a cat that won over the social media accounts of racing teams.
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix once again confirmed its status as one of the most spectacular and welcoming rounds on the global motorsport calendar.
