International observers: Xi Jinping’s US state visit could strengthen trust and cooperation
Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to the United States has drawn attention from international observers, who see the visit as an opportunity to strengthen mutual trust, expand areas of shared interests and advance practical cooperation between the two countries. The visit comes just months after U.S. President Donald Trump’s trip to China in May.
Sean Stein, president of the US-China Business Council, said he hoped the visit would produce positive results and give fresh momentum to the stable development of bilateral relations.
“We’re looking for genuine commitment from both sides to strategic stability. We’re looking for continued progress in changing the tone of the relationship. So, if you ask the business community what we want: stability. We want more trust and better engagement between the two sides,” he said.
Gyula Thurmer, president of the Hungarian Workers’ Party, said the meeting between the two heads of state would provide an opportunity to build a stronger bridge of cooperation and jointly promote global development and prosperity.

The year 2026 marks an important moment in the history of China-U.S. relations, as the U.S. president visited China and President Xi Jinping is visiting the United States, pointing to the direction of bilateral relations. The agreement to build constructive China-U.S.
relations based on strategic stability shapes a vision for the world and points to the future direction of relations between the two major countries. The most important goal is to ensure the peaceful development of China-U.S. relations, thereby contributing to global development,” he said.
“In an era of tremendous changes in the global landscape, we are witnessing the transformation of the world toward a more multipolar model. I believe this will help the United States clarify its role in a multipolar world in which China is indispensable and plays an important and constructive role,” said David Castrillon-Kerrigan, a professor of international relations at the University of Externado in Colombia.
“President Xi Jinping has made great progress in strengthening relations with the president of the United States. This is an extremely important relationship,” said Errol Clark, a board member of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.
