Pezeşkian: Iran is ready for dialogue and cooperation based on mutual respect
Iran supports dialogue and cooperation as a basis for resolving differences and strengthening regional and international security. Speaking at the general debate of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran was ready for negotiations while emphasizing the importance of respecting its sovereignty and legitimate interests.
According to Pezeshkian, the international order should be based on justice, dignity, equal rights and respect for the sovereignty of all states. He said Iran considers its own defense capabilities an important factor in ensuring national security and preventing external threats, while opposing approaches based on seeking dominance or pursuing security through unilateral means.
Pezeshkian also expressed concern that differing approaches to the Iranian nuclear issue and the Palestinian question could complicate efforts to maintain stability in the Middle East. He said the continuation of conflicts and unresolved disputes creates additional risks for regional security.
The Iranian president stressed that military approaches cannot replace international law, diplomacy and political dialogue. He called for greater regional cooperation and efforts to seek solutions capable of ensuring common security.
