Turkmenistan Will Launch Fiber-Optic Cable Production in Partnership with South Korea’s LS Cable & System
A new facility for the production of fiber-optic cables will be built in Turkmenistan. The project will be implemented as part of a long-term partnership with South Korean company LS Cable & System Ltd.
A corresponding Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the "Türkmenaragatnaşyk" Agency and the Korean manufacturer in Seoul on September 15. The document provides for the establishment of domestic cable production, the transfer of advanced technologies, and the provision of technical support. In addition, the parties will jointly construct and modernize backbone telecommunications networks.
The launch of the new facility will make an important contribution to the implementation of state programs aimed at developing the digital economy. Domestic fiber-optic cable production will accelerate the modernization of telecommunications, improve Internet quality, and strengthen Turkmenistan’s role as a key telecommunications hub on international routes.
