Ashgabat and Moscow Prepare for 14th Meeting of Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation
Preparations for the upcoming 14th meeting of the Turkmen-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, scheduled to take place in Moscow, were reviewed during a Cabinet of Ministers meeting on Friday, September 18. Deputy Prime Minister Nokerguly Atagulyev presented a report on the proposed agenda and the composition of the commission's national delegation.
The upcoming round of talks will cover the full spectrum of the strategic partnership between the two states. Key areas of focus include expanding mutual trade and deepening ties in the fuel and energy sector, industry, agriculture, the financial and banking sector, digitalization, and customs administration. Particular emphasis is placed on the transport and communications sector, where the continent's key logistics routes intersect. The meeting agenda includes the expansion of humanitarian ties, joint projects in science, education, environmental protection, culture, and sports, as well as direct dialogue between business communities.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the friendly and strategic nature of relations with the Russian Federation. Having approved the proposed composition of the Turkmen delegation, the Head of State instructed officials to ensure thorough and high-quality preparation of all issues to facilitate successful negotiations in Moscow.
