President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov participated in the Central Asia–Republic of Korea Business Summit, held on September 16 in Seoul under the theme "Future Cooperation for Growth and Innovation." The economic forum was attended by heads of state from the region, as well as leaders of South Korean businesses, financial institutions, and national companies.

Addressing the participants, President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae-myung reaffirmed Seoul's readiness to comprehensively expand mutually beneficial ties, highlighting the solid historical foundation of relations with Central Asian countries.

In his remarks, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov described the business dialogue as a crucial starting point for building a systematic and long-term investment partnership. The Head of State emphasized that the business community plays a key role in initiating new projects, while national governments stand ready to provide maximum practical and methodological support.

Turkmenistan places special value on the contribution of Korean companies to the implementation of major infrastructure and industrial projects within the country. Serdar Berdimuhamedov identified the transport and logistics sector as a strategic priority for cooperation, urging business communities to leverage the geographic positioning of Central Asia and Korea—situated at opposite ends of continental transport arteries—to establish a unified network of multimodal corridors.

The business summit’s agenda covered topics such as geological exploration, the deep processing of mineral resources, green energy, technology transfer, and the development of transit potential. A tangible outcome of the forum was the signing of the Joint Statement of the inaugural "Central Asia – Republic of Korea" Business Summit, alongside a series of bilateral and multilateral memoranda.

According to the Turkmen side, the agreements reached will provide significant momentum for diversifying mutual trade and implementing high-tech projects across the region and the Korean Peninsula.
