National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov paid a working visit to the city of Arkadag, where he reviewed the progress of the second phase of construction and the projects for new social facilities.
The urban development review focused on the modernization of a school specializing in the in-depth study of foreign languages, the construction of a kindergarten and a sports complex, as well as the accelerated construction of the “Arkadagyň ruhy metjidi” Mosque and a madrasa complex with a capacity of 30,000 people.
While reviewing the presented sketches and plans, Hero-Arkadag made a number of specific recommendations concerning the exterior and interior design of the new buildings, suggesting that students and young lecturers specializing in relevant fields be involved in discussions of architectural concepts.
In particular, the importance of decorating the kindergarten interiors with images of flora and fauna was emphasized in order to foster children’s love of nature. It was also noted that the educational process at the modernized school should be combined with the traditions of national pedagogy. Reviewing the madrasa projects, Hero-Arkadag stressed the importance of applying advanced international practices and the principles of the Islamic world to create a comprehensive complex at the level of a higher educational institution.
As part of the visit, the National Leader of the Turkmen people held a working meeting with the leadership of the State Committee for the Construction of the City of Arkadag and the city administration. The agenda included preparations for the 35th anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan, on the occasion of which mass housewarmings are planned in the newly constructed residential buildings.
The development of sports infrastructure was also discussed. Hero-Arkadag emphasized the importance of properly maintaining sports facilities, including the stadium of the “Arkadag” football club, and issued a number of instructions concerning their effective upkeep and operation.
