The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology of Oman has successfully tested an autonomous driverless vehicle. The launch of the equipment into full operation is scheduled for 2027.

The testing took place at Salalah International Airport, the second largest in the country. During the checks, specialists evaluated the performance of intelligent systems, safety, and the vehicle's ability to navigate independently in real airport conditions.

The Omani government expects that the introduction of driverless transport will reduce operational costs, lower carbon emissions, and increase the speed and reliability of passenger and logistics transportation. This project is one of the country's key national priorities in the field of digital transformation.
