Afghan Business Community Invited to Investment Forum in Ashgabat

The Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan are stepping up direct cooperation between their private sectors. Khoja Ovezov, Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Kabul, and Sayed Karim Hashemi, head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), discussed practical steps to expand business ties and develop transit routes.
During the talks, an invitation was extended to Afghan entrepreneurs to attend the major Turkmenistan Investment Forum (TIF 2026), scheduled for October 1–2 in Ashgabat.
The parties paid special attention to the uninterrupted operation of cross-border infrastructure. ACCI leadership confirmed that key trade and logistics hubs—the border crossings at Torghundi (Herat Province) and Aqina (Faryab Province)—are operating normally. The unhindered passage of commercial vehicles through these points remains a critical factor for increasing freight traffic between Turkmenistan and South Asian nations.
