Ambassador of Turkmenistan Meets with Deputy Minister of Sports and Youth of Qatar


On September 6, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the State of Qatar M. Seyitmammedov met with Yasser bin Abdullah Al Jamal, Deputy Minister of Sports and Youth of Qatar.
During the meeting, the Ambassador spoke about the high-level events being organized in Turkmenistan in connection with the declaration of 2026 as the Year of “Independent, Neutral Turkmenistan — the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses” and the 35th anniversary of the country’s State Independence. He also briefed his counterpart on the key directions of Turkmenistan’s policy of permanent neutrality and emphasized that the country’s cooperation with the United Nations is a long-term strategic partnership aimed not only at protecting national interests, but also at promoting peace, sustainable development and humanitarian values throughout the world.
The Ambassador further noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to youth policy and the development of international cooperation in this area. He emphasized that the implementation of specific joint initiatives concerning youth would contribute to the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation.

He also highlighted that numerous projects are being implemented in Turkmenistan in the field of sports, aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and achieving success in the international arena. In particular, he noted that modern sports facilities meeting the highest standards have been constructed in Ashgabat and all regions of the country, providing all necessary conditions for hosting international sporting events throughout the year.
In this regard, the sides noted the potential for developing cooperation between the sports federations of Turkmenistan and Qatar with a view to organizing joint sporting events and training camps in the future.
The sides also discussed specific areas for further cooperation in the fields of sports and youth affairs based on the existing agreements.
