The Prime Minister of Armenia invited the President of Turkmenistan to the COP 17 Leaders' Summit in Yerevan
On September 4, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan held a telephone conversation initiated by the Armenian side. A key outcome of the dialogue was the exchange of high-level invitations: Nikol Pashinyan invited the President of Turkmenistan to participate in the Leaders' Summit prior to the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 17) in Yerevan, and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed an invitation to the Armenian leader to the CIS Heads of State Summit, which will be held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone on October 9.
The parties commended the dynamic of bilateral relations, based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, and openness. The Prime Minister of Armenia particularly emphasized the importance of Ashgabat's international environmental initiatives and conveyed his sincere greetings to National Leader of the Turkmen People, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Confirming Turkmenistan's active participation in the October environmental forum in Yerevan, the head of state emphasized the importance of coordinating efforts within multilateral structures, as well as the effective implementation of Turkmenistan's chairmanship of the CIS to strengthen regional stability and sustainable development.
