Turkmen Farmers Have Begun Sowing Winter Wheat
A key phase of the agricultural season has begun in Turkmenistan: on September 2, mass sowing of winter wheat began simultaneously in all regions of the country. The simultaneous launch of the campaign in all regions allows farmers to make the most of the favorable agroclimatic window to lay the foundation for the future harvest.
In keeping with established tradition, the symbolic start of the sowing season was held by regional elders, who then passed the baton to mechanized brigades. The country's agricultural machinery fleet is fully prepared for the campaign: a full range of tillage and seeding equipment has been deployed to the fields, ensuring strict adherence to agricultural timing, seed placement depth, and soil moisture conservation.
Along with the start of the planting season, practical seminars for agronomists, machine operators, and tenant farmers were held in all regions. The focus was on the implementation of modern agricultural practices, the rational use of water resources, and adherence to grain cultivation protocols.
The start of the sowing campaign is traditionally accompanied by an exhibition of the achievements of the domestic agricultural sector, which showcases not only technical equipment and high-yielding wheat varieties but also finished products from the processing industry, demonstrating the full cycle of the country's food security.
