Subsurface Anomalies Detected Under Noah's Ark Radar


The Durupınar rock formation in eastern Turkey, located near Mount Ararat, has once again become the focus of the global scientific community. An international team of researchers, together with Turkish archaeologists, presented preliminary results of a 3D ground-penetrating radar scan of the area, known for its giant ship-shaped outline.
According to the Turkish publication Milliyet, citing the project's leader, Professor of Archaeology Cenker Atila, large-scale research at the site began in the summer of 2026. Scientists used specialized subsurface radar scanning systems, originally developed using US Air Force technology.
The main intrigue is that the scan has challenged the prevailing hypothesis about the rock's natural origin. Instead of a monolithic rock, the instruments revealed intersecting voids, layered structures, and anomalies deep beneath the surface.
"The presence of voids and angular contours intersecting at several levels raised the question of whether they could be elements of a man-made vessel. Analysis of soil samples showed that carbon levels in the interior of the formation are 40% higher than those on the outside. This directly indicates the possible presence of organic matter or wood remains," TASS quoted Professor Jenker Atila as saying.
It is noteworthy that the length of the boat-shaped structure is approximately 157–164 meters, comparable to 300 cubits—the size of the Ark described in the Old Testament.
In turn, Khosrow Bakhtar, an expert in geomechanics and ground-penetrating radar, emphasized in a commentary for the Hispanatolia portal that the obtained 3D data are preliminary. Radar anomalies alone do not prove the object's anthropogenic origin, but they do allow for precise targeting of test core drilling sites. Scientists expect to collect approximately a thousand samples and conduct chemical analysis of the surviving fragments. The researchers plan to publish their final conclusions on whether the remains of an ancient vessel are hidden in Durupınar within the next two months.
