New University Campuses and Schools Will Open in Turkmenistan on September 1


Turkmenistan is preparing for the start of the new 2026-2027 academic year. Preparations for the festive events and the opening of scientific and educational facilities were reviewed at a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday, August 28.
Key events on September 1 will include the opening of new building complexes at the 5,000-seat Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering in Ashgabat and the Seyitnazar Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute in Turkmenabat.
The opening of a 960-seat school and a 320-seat kindergarten in the Akhal region, a 240-seat preschool in the Dashoguz region, and two 1,000-seat secondary schools in the Lebap region will also coincide with the holiday.
The traditional first lesson of the new academic year will be held under the year's motto and will be dedicated to the key milestones of Turkmenistan's 35th anniversary of independence, the state's foreign and domestic policies, and support for youth initiatives.
First-graders across the country will receive personalized Bilimli educational laptops on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen People.
A key event marking the beginning of the academic year will also be a joint thematic lesson for university and school students across the country, which will take place on September 2 at the Ruhyýet Palace in Arkadag, with the participation of the Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty.
